I thought they were only good for tanks if you have live plants in there.
Yes, they are good for the plants especially and help bring more oxygen into the water.
I don’t know much more than that about it. Sorry.
The CO2 will benefit plants, it’s something they need for photosynthesis. But just to make sure you’re clear about how to use them, you probably can’t just drop these in your tank, or the CO2 will be let off all at once. It would be like dropping in Alka-Seltzer and fizz until the tablet completely dissolves.
To use these correctly, you would need to have some kind of CO2 reactor with a regulator so the CO2 could be released more gradually. If you release too much CO2 at once, it will drop the pH and reduce the amount of dissolved O2 in your tank, and this could potentially kill any fish in the tank.
